To the extent there is some validity to this parable – and of course parables have been traditionally conceived as perfectly valid ways of expressing some eternal verity or other – this has some interesting implications for educational theory. This seems to be what is suggested in the references of some psychological theoreticians to the "Matthew Effect."
Matthaeus 25.14-30 (parable of the talents)
14 Sicut enim homo peregre proficiscens vocavit servos suos et tradidit illis bona sua.
